Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him—Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou was well pleased; behold the blood of thy son which was shed, the blood of him who thou gavest  that thyself might be glorified: Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto thee and have everlasting life. ~Doctrine and Covenants 45:3-5

We have a relationship with Elohim as the father of our spirits and Christ as the father of our spiritual birth. . . . Christ is our advocate with the Father, suggesting that when the Father is our judge, Christ pleads our case before him . . . [thus] our relationship with Christ may somehow parallel his relationship with the Father. He teaches us that we “may understand and know how to worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of His fullness.”  (Bruce C. Hafen and Mary K. Hafen, the Belonging Heart: The Atonement and Relationship with God and Family [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 1994], 152)

Daily Living

The Lord pleads our case for He is our Advocate with the Father. Gratitude should fill our hearts knowing of the goodness and mercy of our Savior

which surely will motivate us to follow the commandments of the Lord.

(Hebrews 9:24; 2 Nephi 2:9; Moroni 7:28, D&C 29:5)
