… public entertainment, almost without exception, is authored / produced by those who do not have our standards and often hold our standards in open contempt. When we surrender to worldly (immorally suggestive or violent) entertainment we effectively ‘take off our religion’. When we hold that example out to our children we teach them that media that contrasts wholesome gospel values is OK. It can start in the home when thus involved with inappropriate music or TV. Then when they (we) seek entertainment out of the home, will the power of suggestion from such inappropriate media become the seedbed of action later?… when we or our children are with those unsympathetic to the Lord’s teachings and influence? kdm
(As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am SO grateful the Church and other Christian media now offers wholesum entertainment. In the 1990’s it was not yet so. k)
