Some day, in the years to come, you will be wrestling with the great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But the real struggle is here, now…. Now is being decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or temptation, you shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process.~ Phillips Brooks
The correct choices we make now, towards God and Jesus Christ, build daily habits / discipline that sustain through unseen heavier challenges ahead. We all have them, sometimes in more difficult doses than we ever thought possible (or ‘fair’!). They come attendant with feelings of isolation / abandonment even as Christ proclaimed on the cross: “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34) Today / now is the time to ‘stay the course’ consistent with the glorious direction our Heavenly Father and his Christ would have us embrace / sustain, the character qualities leading back to them. kdm
