A common difficulty for me (and many) on the path of following and embracing Christ’s example can be feeling defeated because it all seems so overwhelming. Satan revels in this opportunity to defeat me, make me his. I am in a lifetime learning process and the most stable growth is slow and carefully sought, a ‘spiritual baby step at a time’. I remember the Lord gives me weaknesses to humble me so I then call upon His name, remember and follow his example.
Picture it in your mind… Would you discipline a toddler according to standard expected of a much older child, even an adult? Yet often (spiritually) that is the standard we demand of our self.
