This, the concluding statement directed toward those called and ordained to do the work of God, also applies to anyone wanting to grow in Christ. Jesus always looked outward, beyond self, to higher purposes in favor of His Father’s will. It’s a pattern that opens the door for blessings from above, and forgetting our own problems and limitations. Such ‘eternal value’ blessings far exceed what keeps the worldly occupied. Done a step at a time, allows the Lord to lead me to increased levels of commitment, self discipline, and service. This is part of His ultimate purpose and ‘bring(s) to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.’ (Moses 1:39).
