constancy of purpose
“The secret of success is constancy of purpose.” ~Benjamin Disraeli
General Conference (this coming weekend) will become the source of powerful insights to many from God through His chosen servants. The troubled world we live in can leave me wondering ‘where is God?’ The answer ‘He is with me and those many when we make the effort and internalize the greater light given — even our Savior’s light.’ When feeling discouraged at the sheer volume of what Christ is asking me to do (through conference), I remember instead it’s not so much the doing all suggested NOW, as keeping on track with the quote above.
Watching, listening or reading daily (May’s upcoming Ensign or https://www.lds.org/?lang=eng) brings an upward shift in my thoughts and motivation. As with any scripture, my ‘constancy’ brings another insight I can now live… line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little (Isaiah 28:10). Such small daily changes become my gift to Him for what He gave all of us and celebrated daily and at Easter time… His example, His Atoning sacrifice and joyous resurrection! ‘Partaking’ becomes ‘fixing my spiritual eye’ on Him through the words of leaders he’s chosen for today. Constancy of purpose?… Strange to call it a gift to Him when he returns so much to me for the effort!
