And so it goes with any moral or worthwhile strength I may choose to pursue. ‘Moral strength’ has a broader application than relating to a single area alone (… important as that single area is!). For example, in choosing to keep the Ten Commandments, or any commandment from heavenly inspired sources… to consistently choose in favor of them, my moral strength and courage increases against all of life’s negative temptations.
Making an elevated habit, the Lord blesses me with needed courage and discipline for all worthwhile pursuits/against all temptations to do otherwise. (‘Pick up one end of the stick, I pick up the other.’) Should I choose to become stronger in any of the gifts of the Spirit, or any holier path in life, the strength grows much more quickly with that consistency, with ‘blinders on’ against spiritual distractions. With Christ so partnering ‘in the equation’ I cannot fail. Left to my own without Him, I cannot succeed (in the long term… because the gap will be filled with the adversary’s negative suggestions). kdm
