“When firmly planted, our testimonies of the gospel, of the Savior, and of our Heavenly Father will influence all that we do.”—Thomas S. Monson, “Keep the Commandments

Part of the becoming “firmly planted” that “will influence all that I can do” includes the simple things my leaders encourage upon me. Such increase my self preservation under Christ to his true principles. My central purpose in life finds ways to do what He has suggested through His servants and not to figure out ways (make convenient excuses) against those truths and counsel. My ongoing gift to Him; I want to do what He wants me to.

Thus, for one example, keeping the Sabbath day holy means I choose to attend church meetings and reverence that special day in action and behavior. I find ways to do keep normal life activities to week days and make the Sabbath a delight by refusing to mix in distractions against His holy day. I enjoy the sweet lift in my life that this constant approach of Sabbath day reverence brings! (‘Exceptions’ happen and are as rare as possible.) kdm
