The scriptures are so important in my quest ‘to walk as he walked’. Through them I become truer to Him for what he has done, is doing, for me. I want to be like Him. I want to work the challenges of life, and my ‘issues’, under His guidance… because his solutions are permanent and build in me a greater capacity to ‘weather’ the storms of life and the increasingly brutal world that precedes His Second Coming. He has given me answers. I can be truer to him with each passing day, increasing my power to overcome. (To the LDS reader: We can embrace all the tools He has sent forth for our difficult world; the Standard Works (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price), and teachings of current living oracles, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, even those under their direction in our midst or sent to encourage and guide us.) kdm re-posted from May 1, 2015
