Life will be easier in 2016 when we resolve (continue) to remember Jesus Christ daily/many times within each day. By so doing our moments (and longer than moments) of challenge, need, or trial will have much better results than without Him! As with Paul the Apostle of the New Testament, some trials may last a lifetime, an opportunity for greater growth and sanctification while understanding Christ is the Captain of our soul.  kdm

Elder Dallin H. Oaks said: “In mortality we have the certainty of death and the burden of sin. The Atonement of Jesus Christ offsets these two certainties of mortal life. But apart from death and sin, we have many other challenges as we struggle through mortality. Because of that same Atonement, our Savior can provide us the strength we need to overcome these mortal challenges.

Alma described this part of the Savior’s Atonement in Alma 7:11-12; 11 “And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. (continuing in 12) And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor [which means to give relief or aid to] his people according to their infirmities.” (also see 2 Nephi 9:21).
