Why do I appreciate today, the celebration of Christ’s birth? I can reflect upon, appreciate how He has changed my life and look forward to many changes to come. Change under His guidance means my soul expands; I see and feel greater capacity to do his bidding as taught from true sources (scripture, his authorized servants and by personal inspiration). I feel His more settled and increasingly constant companionship. My very human problems and lack of discipline are not an offense to Him. When I give to Him the gift of my heart, and strive to stay on that course, those weaknesses become tools he uses to change me. Left to my own, I do a poor job in managing me. With Him life is much more fun since I experience change/growth constantly.
It all has purpose to become a little more like Him, my exemplar. So in appreciation of Him and all he’s done on my behalf (His birth, life, ministry, atoning sacrifice… He didn’t half to do any of it) I am happy to voluntarily give my heart, and volition over to him. ‘A little more like Him’ each day means I accept his pace, after all HE knows what is best for me far better than I ever will!
And… the last post takes on a different slant; “While each of us,… has depressed hours, none of us needs to be a depressed person.”~Henry Emerson Fosdick. Meaning when I follow his example in serving others (even when not appreciated) I can forget my own struggles into a refreshed perspective.
