“There are three marks of a superior man (person): being virtuous they are free from anxiety; being wise, they are free from perplexity (inner confusion, turmoil); being brave, they are free from fear.”~Confucius
Those who live these ‘three marks’ of a superior man or woman, have greater inner strength for when life and times get tough. Choices in favor of virtue increase confidence to call upon God for strength… when the world would wallow in weak confusion of loose life styles.
Becoming wise suggests we look for the deeper wisdom only God can give through studying His word and applying correct principles that bring us closer to Him. Worldly wisdom can be of value, but often lacks depth… to answer the more challenging questions/problems of life. God’s deeper answers or comfort give stability in life’s deeper difficulties even tragedies.
Those who live the laws of God are among the bravest of all. They fear not what comes knowing their life is in order and humbly seek God’s hand of protection when needed for self, loved ones and friends. Fretting and negative responses are foreign to them. Even in the worst of times, come what may, their direction is confidently stable and brings peace of mind. It’s never too late to seek the higher virtues and become close to God… in the same thought, the best timing is now to break from a lifestyle lacking peace and purpose. kdm
