Many sayings are timeless, even when the current world rejects the truths they suggest we embrace. The adversary, and the lack of discipline he creates, would have us reject such statements as above. He whispers he has an “easier way”… the easier to wrap his chains (of apathy, pride, selfishness, addictions) around us and thus have one more individual under his power. The ‘road less traveled’, self-discipline through Christ and His teachings, requires a little extra effort day to day, but is clearly the correct choice for peace in this world and for eternal possibilities. Consider too… living His teachings day to day, is simply happier (thus our best friend) because the truths we embrace set us free from the bad things that come to the undisciplined. kdm
