Some ‘attitudes of mind’ leave us stuck in patterns that fail to work towards the purpose of our time here on earth. That purpose, from God himself, is given to us in scripture: “For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”(Moses 1:39) All of the adversary’s tools are directly ‘calculated’ to have us stuck, (set in our ways) even comfortable in patterns that fail to meet what God has in mind for us. They come infinitely short of our God given potential. (see Colossians 2:6-8) Thus freedom under God is far more sweet and of eternal consequence (progression) than any ‘freedoms’ (of stifling attitudes, habits) Satan tempts us with in this world.
We are all free to choose. When consistently choosing God, we embrace the discovery of William James and alter our attitudes to a path of growth, purpose, peace of mind and infinite potential under God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. kdm
