Veterans Day, now past, remembers the fallen and those who returned home having paid a price for our freedoms. Often that price left many physically and emotionally scarred, their lives (and those of their loved ones) forever changed. Even those who came back without physical or other scars, remember fallen or maimed comrades. We, instead, are able to go on our way, relatively carefree. We can thank our Vets in conversation, but also in doing our part here at home to sustain those freedoms, by being ‘up and doing’ to defend where others already paid so high a price. kdm
