“A life devoted to trifles, not only takes away the inclination, but the capacity for higher pursuits.”
~Hannah More  (re-posted from 3.18.15)

When we think it’s time to change because life has become mundane, the same old thing, day after day, it might be useful to consider the habits we have (and the ones we don’t) that make it so. Trifles defined include self-centered activities of no long term real worth to us, loved ones, and others, and to God. Actively living the gospel, lifting others, commitment to callings and covenants we’ve made or will yet make, embraces that ‘capacity for higher pursuits’. When we lose ourselves, daily lifting self and those around us to a greater appreciation of life and our Creator, we are definitely not ‘devoted to trifles’ but involved in ‘higher pursuits’ of eternal value! kdm
