‘Tell the people to be sure to keep the Spirit of the Lord and follow it, and it will lead them just right.’ ~Joseph Smith (Prophet of the Restoration through a vision to President Brigham Young, his successor about 1849.)

Many struggle in today’s world because of disorder (and distractions) in their lives. It need not be so.  Through study of the word of God, prayer, and sincerely following counsel (impressions) received, our own perspective gradually enters a place of peace, growth and ‘order’ well worth the consistent efforts to change. It’s not easy to form new habits, especially since they require an ongoing commitment. The adversary will make sure there are distractions so that personal change seems inconvenient or even impossible.  That is why we take it a day at a time, sometimes an hour or even a moment at a time.

It’s so important to stay with it through the spiritual ‘bumps and bruises’ that suggest defeat.  Downward degeneracy increases in ‘momentum and bondage’ when we give into selfish and defeatist attitudes, negative self-talk and habits.  The adversary cannot be where Christ is. Upward change happens more quickly as we include Christ in the ‘equation’ and consult with him often.  When we make habit to feed our mind with all that lifts us spiritually the ‘law of the harvest’ takes over… ‘casting your bread upon the waters returns it to you buttered and jammed! … there is nothing sweeter than to have the Spirit of the Lord and follow it, and it will lead (you) just right.   kdm
