I wonder what evil-hearing means?… could it be to listen with intention to change and embellish a story for personal gain? Even without that intent, when we pass along something less than honorable, whether or not the person ‘deserves’ it, we enter the arena of the damned. In the same way that water is halted when up against a dam of concrete and dirt, so we dam / damn our own progression when evil-speaking. The Spirit, the Lord’s approval, cannot be with us when we preoccupy our conversation (and thoughts) with information, true or not, which hurts others. And… we become less thought of in the eyes of mortals who really matter, the honest of heart. kdm
