If I question Elder Christofferson’s statement, and follow a path (of varying degrees) of ‘anything goes’ instead, I might also consider where my path leads… and the hows and whys of growth through trial and error (often unpleasant, demanding, sometimes excruciating). On life’s stage, am I becoming a giver or taker, a blessing or burden? If I accept Christ, then I also accept His example and teachings of purpose and commitment. I can’t pick up one end of the stick without picking up the other. My end of that stick embraces a life with commitment to Him as my example (to follow and embrace more of His ways). His end brings peace of mind and growth to draw closer to Him, increasingly closer day by day… and is rich with deeper blessings only He can provide. kdm
