The human nature part of this is revealed when, in the critical moment, discipline and consequence are conveniently dismissed… ‘to be dealt with later’. Little do we realize the damage done is not easily reversed. Accumulated over continued poor choices, such damage quickly becomes a ‘dark cloud of trouble’ producing a state of hopelessness and despair. There is only one way to freedom, that returns peace of mind, self discipline, clear thinking AND the energy to stay with it. It is to look to Christ, repent and embrace His example and teachings… and the sooner the better, because delaying allows more and larger chains to encumber our resolve. kdm (5.19.15)
