“Thou that hath given so much to us, give one thing more… a grateful heart.” ~Geroge Herbert

Sometimes, and even often for some, we feel it a difficult challenge to have gratitude for the surprises and difficulties life puts in our path. Yet the opposite places a ‘dark cloud’ overhead and causes others to keep their distance from us.  The ‘grateful heart approach’, prayed for and cultivated as a habit, yields the blessing of always having the Lord close. What more could we ask?  We may not understand or agree with His methods nor should we place blame on Him. Difficult things of life often result from our own poor judgement and lack of preparation.  We can seek His counsel, but need to understand His voice.  That comes in a number of ways and has a start through expressing earnest, sincere gratitude for Him, what he’s done for us (especially his Atoning sacrafice), and all positive (and not so positive) things that cause us on bended knee to draw close to Him.  Simply put, life is better with him!    kdm
