“We need not walk by the shores of Galilee or among the Judean hills to walk where Jesus walked. All of us can walk the path He walked when, with His words ringing in our ears, His Spirit filling our hearts, and His teachings guiding our lives, we choose to follow Him as we journey through mortality, His example lights the way. Said He,“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”(John 14:6) ~President Thomas S. Monson, Ensign, Nov 2014 p.86
President Thomas S. Monson is our current living prophet as much so as Abraham, Moses, father Adam and Peter of the New Testament (oracles centuries ago deceased). With his two Councilors, The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, living oracles, and others designated by Jesus Christ through them, we have opportunity to hear His ‘now’ message for us. They and we as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints earnestly declare that Jesus never intended the scriptural canon to be permanently closed with the Bible as many fellow Christians believe. kdmConsider also… “Vital religion cannot be maintained and preserved on the theory that God dealt with our human race only in the far past ages, and that the Bible is the only evidence we have that our God is a living, revealing, communicating God. If God ever spoke, he is still speaking. He is the great I Am, not the great He Was.” ~Rufus Jones, Quaker teacher and writer (A Flash of Eternity)
