“Life is too short for mean anxieties.”
~Charles Kingsley
What inner voices do we listen to? What’s their source? For me those ‘mean anxieties’ come up when I am driving and the ‘other guy is owning the road’ or sometimes I tend to own it. Either way, not in the moment but after, I can picture the adversary shouting justifications into my ear taking delight in disrupting my day. If I fail to ‘shake it off’ (repent in the moment or shortly after) the rest of my day can be affected. We must learn to do as Brigham Young suggested. He said, “I’m not going to hell, I repent too fast!” meaning as soon as he did wrong, felt the disharmony from the adversary, he sought the Lord’s help to purge (remove) the mean anxieties and make a better choice. kdm
