Brigham Young counseled candidly: “Some do not understand duties which do not coincide with their natural feelings and affections… there are duties which are above natural affection.” ~Journal of Discourses, 7:65.
There are some things in my life where change is needed… a pattern every day within gospel living where my commitment to Christ could be improved. Most of them, singly, would not take much time or energy to change. When I look at them as a package, there seems too much to do and I keep it all on the back burner thinking I’ll get to it some day… and some day never comes. When I seek Christ’s help and take each less committed issue one at a time, it’s really quite doable. I make the change, placing me on a higher plane and closer to His purposes. I reap increased commitment to Him, increased blessings from Him, and greater innate power to do His will. And really, that’s what it’s all about… line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little. (2 Nephi 28:30) kdm
