Sometimes in life we can run into a problem that is hard to resolve when two parties can’t seem to come to a peaceful agreement. I made a mistake causing hurt feelings and the party on the receiving end of my blunder understandably took offense. After I apologized, it seemed the situation was resolved. Apparently, not so. More recently the offended party wanted me to do something I am not prepared to do. To my way of thinking, among other things, it would set in motion a long term commitment that I am not prepared to take on. Then, publicized widely, I was (and am still) getting dark and angry looks from other members to the point where I was seriously considering no longer attending.

Relief came yesterday when talks during sacrament meeting by a High Counselor and his wife targeted such issues. They revealed we can sometimes take too seriously, interaction with others who are easily offended.  I learned that it is better to let things go than to exacerbate a problem.  kdm
