Vaughn J. Featherstone wrote:

It is God our Father, through the instrumentality of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who has provided us with the iron rod, the tree of life, and the gospel, which are all part of this great plan of happiness for us. There comes trailing down from the preexistence, in the deep recesses of our soul, a dependence upon our loving Heavenly Father. In our moments of agony, terror, death, and overwhelming burdens our inner soul cries out to Him. Somehow we feel that He and only he can bring peace to our overburdened souls. He never fails to answer in His perfect way and with His perfect love, and with our eternal welfare as His focus. . . .

Our prayers will be heard and out of the depth of our suffering there will come sweet and tender whisperings that we are not alone; that somewhere in the realms of heaven, He knows, He understands and He will bring us peace and healing.

Our prayers to him should focus on our Father, the great Elohim, and we should acknowledge before His throne our absolute and total willingness to accept whatever befalls us, knowing that our eternal becoming like Him is through our submission and obedience to Him.
