There is a book that has become a ‘constant read’ for me. When I finish the last page, the next time I pick it up I start again with page one. It’s clarity on God’s love for me/each of us is profound! To me it speaks that He and Jesus Christ will never/ever give up on me/us! They are always ‘in our corner cheering us on’ and giving us options against the adversary’s agenda for us. They are always there willing to give counsel.

Should I not hear, if I have doubts of their love and interest in me, it is because I have shut out that ‘still small voice’ of counsel due to the noise of the world around me. . . which so easily carries the adversary’s message and ‘propaganda.’ It is my ‘option / opportunity ‘ to take steps to shut out that adversity and choose a path ‘friendly’ to my God’s purposes for me.

THAT is not easy because the adversary’s every effort is to distract me from the truth of God’s love and interest. He SHOUTS against God’s still small voice of reason, of counsel, of love, of discipline, of quiet and profound goodness. . .  Once the adversary has our attention (often through our own lack of disciplined choices!) he fiercely holds on. He does not want us to taste again the blessing of God’s goodness, interest and love for us.

Again, God will never give up. He is always there, even when we have our back to Him. We always have the option to turn around, even (especially!) when we feel unworthy to share our thoughts and feelings with Him. When we do talk to Him and a ‘cloud’ (of our own making) has come between us, it’s our opportunity to choose wisely. Part of that wisdom understands to listen to His voice which will have us make the small changes at first. Then as the small successes happen, the ‘stage of discipline’ is set to change harder things. kdm
