“Choose to put yourself in a position,” Elder Robert D. Hales counseled us, ” to have experiences with the Spirit of God through prayer, in scripture study, at Church meetings, in your home and through wholesome interactions with others. When you feel the influence of the Spirit, you are beginning to be cleansed and strengthened. The light is being turned on, and where that light shines, the darkness of evil cannot be.” 6
The journey from darkness to light is what spiritual rebirth is all about. We are born into a fallen world, a world of darkness. We grapple with darkness and must decide if we are content to dwell in darkness or walk toward the light. The Light of the world demands a decision. Either people will press toward him and partake of the light, or they will love and cling to darkness because of their evil deeds (John 3:19).
