The Joshuas of the twenty-first century will be righteous mothers and fathers the world over. These are the unsung but nevertheless real heros and heroines of our time.
Those who work at their marriages are much more likely to create homes that are not simply chuming, hectic hotels. Children raised in such nurturing homes are less likely to be heady, selfish, and lovers of themselves more than God. (2 Timothy 3:2-4).
There are no attention-getting press releases or news conferences held by such parents declaring, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). The parenting process nevertheless occurs quietly and steadily and will speak for itself. ~ Neal A. Maxwell, Whom the Lord Loveth, Deseret Book 2003. pg. 63
