“No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated and disciplined.”~Harry Emerson Fosdick
So is any life dedicated to the Lord. When we become more proactively willing, He increases our faith, focus, patience, and discipline with life’s challenges. We then become so much more than without Him. We may live with problems for a long time; some never go away in this life. Such become our ‘refiners fire and fullers soap’[i],[ii] to make of us so much more than we could make of our self left to our ‘own devises and wisdom’. Yet He is always there ready to assist in upward change when we strive to keep our spiritual focus upon Him.
A life without challenge and difficulty is a life lacking the substance for which we were sent here… growth towards a more elevated reality. We thank Him for that by living his instructions and counsel, because without him and his Atoning sacrifice, this life would have no purpose. Our future would be dead ended. Not striving in His eternal purposes, life becomes shallow and no more dynamic for growth than lower forms of life we see daily. Unfortunately many of those lower forms are human as they succumb to, act out animal like impulses offensive to God and the pure in heart.
“The life given us by nature is short; but the memory (reality) of a well spent life is eternal.”~Cicero
